Five years Grand Bargain –
time to restart humanitarian reform?
taking place on 11-12 May 2021.
We have invited a wide range of practitioners, researchers and experts to discuss the five-years anniversary of the first World Humanitarian Summit and the agreed Grand Bargain, which was planned as a key initiative to substantially reform humanitarian action. Now that its five-years timeframe is coming to an end, CHA reflects in its conference on what has been achieved and what is yet to be done. In a series of virtual discussion formats, we are going to explore these questions while focusing on key areas and commitments made through the Grand Bargain and its potential future. These include:- humanitarian reform and the need for a restart
- localisation and the new role of INGOs and intermediaries in locally led humanitarian action
- humanitarian funding and the role of donors and organisations as both drivers and inhibitors of reform.
