On 15 April 2021, at 8pm CEST, CHA research fellow Sonja Hövelmann is invited as a speaker in the next “Cadus Debate” hosted by Cadus e.V. – Redefine Global Solidarity, titled
Sanctions: international measures that come with a high price?
Sonja Hövelmann will explain why sanctions are often well-intentioned but usually impact citizens and collide fatally with humanitarian aid.
Verena Lauble, the coordinator of Cadus’ Syria projects, will inform about their projects on the ground and will point out how imposed sanctions hinder their daily work in Syria.
More information on the event and how to participate can be found here:
Participants can also raise questions in the separate IRC chat. The link for the chat can also be found on the event website.
