CHA studies Triple Nexus in the Chad Basin

The Centre for Humanitarian Action has been contracted to evaluate the nexus component of Plan International’s Lake Chad Programme Strategy. The strategy (2018-2023) includes a peace component alongside the dual nexus approach of better linking humanitarian action and development cooperation. In the countries of Nigeria, Niger and Cameroon, Plan International is implementing projects to foster social cohesion, contributing to the practical implementation of the Triple Nexus or Humanitarian-Development-Peace (HDP) Nexus.

The CHA team, led by Dr. Andrea Steinke, implements the evaluation through interviews and discussions with Plan staff and representatives of donor institutions, literature and document research, and an online survey.

The project fits into the CHA work focus “Nexus in Practice” and gains insights into the practical implementation and challenges of the Triple Nexus.
