Care work plays a central role in humanitarian work. The Corona pandemic has recently highlighted once again how important care work is. Nevertheless, the unjust structures in the health sector have not changed. Care work is still highly gendered and undervalued because debates often miss the needs of people in the (humanitarian) care professions.
What criticisms and proposals do feminist approaches provide? Could a care-oriented society be a solution? These and other questions will be discussed by our research associate Goda Milasiute on 12 October as host of the panel “Humanitarian Care Practices: A Critical Perspective” at the Humanitarian Congress in Berlin.
