The Centre for Humanitarian Action (CHA) is looking for research interns in full-time or part-time. CHA is a Berlin-based think tank fostering critical reflection, open debate and public communication of humanitarian action. We are anchored in civil society through our founding organisations Caritas Germany, Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe, Doctors without Borders and our legal entity Maecenata Foundation. Our aim is to strengthen humanitarian action through independent, practice-oriented research. We seek to build bridges between the international and national discourses as well as bridging academic analysis with practitioners’ needs and experience in the field.
To support our research team, we are looking for interns starting as soon as possible. Interns must be enrolled at a university and are asked to support the CHA team between three and six months.
Tasks and responsibilities
- Media monitoring and crisis updates to keep CHA team in the loop about latest humanitarian developments
- Researching CHA relevant topics, such as humanitarian policy developments, in academic, as well as practice-oriented debates
- Researching and composing texts for CHA publication formats, social media and website
- Administrative tasks, e.g. updating team calendar, event management
- Possibility of representing CHA at related events in Berlin
Profile
- Sound understanding of humanitarian topics, currently policy developments and debates
- Strong researching and writing skills, independent and structured working methods
- Ideally practical experience in humanitarian action
- Fluency in English and German or French
- Enrolled at university
